A man walked up to a victim at 3480 Harvey Ave., indicated he had a gun, and made off with the victim's property, including an iPhone that later turned up in use at a gas station, according to Cincinnati police.

Case Directed by District Four
District Four is investigating the robbery, per the department's alert. The district covers 10 to 11 central and northern Cincinnati neighborhoods, including Avondale, Corryville, Clifton, Bond Hill and Roselawn, out of its headquarters at 4150 Reading Road. The department notes on its own police-oriented social media presence that the account is not monitored continuously and directs anyone with an emergency to call 911 rather than wait for a reply.
District Four's footprint has grown since the department closed its District 5 headquarters in late 2023 and reassigned those patrol sectors across Districts 1, 3 and 4, according to prior Hoodline reporting.
Investigators Point to Detective, Ask for Tips
Anyone with information is asked to contact police. Tipsters who wish to stay anonymous can also call Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040, a line that uses unrecorded phone calls without caller ID and can pay out up to $2,500 for information leading to a felony arrest or grand jury indictment.
Detectives in the area also have access to Connect Cincinnati, a voluntary registry that lets residents and business owners register exterior security cameras so investigators can quickly request nearby footage, according to the North Avondale Neighborhood Association. Whether any cameras near Harvey Park or the Compton Road BP captured the suspect or a vehicle has not been disclosed.
What the Suspect Could Face
Indicating a firearm during a theft can elevate the offense to aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony under Ohio law, according to the Ohio Revised Code. If prosecutors can prove a firearm was displayed or used, state law also provides a mandatory three-year term.
